About the Artist

Tonyia has been interested in photography her whole life and now that she is retired, is finding new things, places and people to capture. She has been trained by the world renowned National Geographic lenseman, Bob Sacha,in the very photogenic area of Santa Fe, NM. She recently trained with Robert Frutos, a specialist at Kilauea's Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. There she learned how to capture the successive lava flows at night, which was an exhilerating experience, followed by daylight photography of the same lava flow via helicopter. "Nature is so incredibly and constantly inspiring!"

She has participated in various classes for several seasons with Stu Nudelman and Bob Joyner, both renowned photographers in Ogunquit, Maine. Seeing photography through their eyes has enhanced her own personal images in unique ways.Thus, from each of these photographers, Tonyia has extracted information and applications which apply to her own personal view of the world.
